BACHELOR OF PUBLIC RELATIONS & MASS COMMUNICATION
Specific Course Objectives
- To equip students with strategic and relevant knowledge and skills in public relations/communication and/or journalism and their benefits to the citizens of Uganda and society in general, to organizations or business entities;
- To teach students how to utilise public relations/communication/journalism knowledge and skills gained in lecture rooms in society.
- To equip students with research skills in Public Relations/communication and/or journalism.
- To shape students into responsible public relations/communication and/or journalism professionals.
Mode of delivery:
Ordinary lectures, coursework, practical sessions, case studies, and two internship sessions.

- Practical and case-study-based.
- We have a state-of-the-art media lab, where lecturers conduct practical sessions for students.
- These practical sessions are aimed at helping learners acquaint themselves with trending public relations and journalism industry developments.
- The same media lab is also used by students to do research and personal reading.
- Further, the university is designing strategic partnerships with major media houses and selected public relations agencies/firms and well-built public relations/communication/public affairs offices in both the private and public organisations both in Uganda and in the region, to always automatically take on our learners for internship training.
- Lastly, the course also aims to shape our learners not only into responsible public relations/communication or journalism practitioners but also into responsible citizens of this country .
Course duration:
Three academic years

To train students on the key roles of communication in organizations, and workplaces and how journalism supports these key roles.

A ‘Level with at least two principal passes and not less than five credits at O-Level, or an ordinary diploma or degree in humanities from a recognised institution of higher learning.
