The Academic Registrar
Pius Ochwo is a professed member of the Institute of the Brothers of Christian Instruction, popularly known as the Kisubi Brothers.
Pius Ochwo holds a Ph.D. in Evaluation and Measurement form Kent State University, Ohio (USA), M.A (Development Studies), Diploma in Advanced Education Management and B. A (Music) (Hons), among other qualifications.
Before his appointment to the University of Kisubi, Ochwo was the Head teacher of St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School, Kasasa. He has taught in a number of Secondary Schools that are under the Brothers of Christian Instruction in Uganda, lectured courses at the University of Kisubi and supervised students’ research at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
To date, he serves as a Council Member for the Province of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus, Uganda. He is Chairperson – Board of Governors of St. Charles Lwanga Secondary School, Kasasa as well as vice Chair – Board of Governors of Cardinal Nsubuga Secondary School, Ttomi. Ochwo is a member of the Rotary Club of Bwebajja.
Ochwo has undertaken cutting edge research most of which has been published in international journals. His general research interests focus on methodological issues when quantitative statistical methods are applied to data that either have complex structures or are not perfect. He frequently uses hierarchical linear modeling, structural equation modeling, and advanced experimental and quasi-experimental designs such as randomized controlled trials, propensity score matching, regression discontinuity design, and interrupted time series.
