Gitego Nkurunziza Grace, the 10th Guild President of University of Kisubi

Ms. Gitego Nkurunziza Grace is a dedicated second-year student at the University of Kisubi, pursuing a degree in Education with a specialization in History and Geography. A passionate advocate for youth empowerment and education, she has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to service, and a drive to create positive change in her community.

With a proven track record in student governance, Gitego currently serves as the 10th and second woman to lead the students’ Guild of the University of Kisubi, where she leads efforts to enhance student welfare, promote effective governance, and advocate for academic and social improvements. Previously, she held key leadership roles, including Deputy Speaker of the University of Kisubi (2023-2024) and Vice President of the Service Learning Club, where she championed community engagement and student-led development initiatives.

Beyond campus leadership, Gitego has contributed to meaningful social impact through her work with NGOs. As a Community Learning Facilitator at Save The Children International (2022-2023), she worked to expand educational opportunities for underserved children. Earlier, as an Incentive Worker at Tutapona Uganda (2021-2022), she supported mental health programs for vulnerable populations. Her district-level role as Speaker of the Uganda National Students Association (Kamwenge District, 2019-2020) further highlights her dedication to representing student voices in policy discussions.

Driven by a vision of inclusive education and youth leadership, Gitego continues to inspire through her advocacy, service, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others. Her leadership philosophy centers on integrity, collaboration, and the belief that true progress is achieved through collective effort.
